My name is Helen de la Catherine, and I am an externally accredited meditation teacher, offering meditation courses in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

 A little bit about me

You could say that I discovered meditation the hard way! I have lived with OCD and mild anxiety for almost as long as I can remember. Then, in the year 2000, I began to be afflicted by endometriosis, a condition that would cause me severe pain for years to come. There were days when I felt too unwell to leave the house, and my pain, frustration and growing isolation eventually led to sleeplessness and low mood. I remember wanting to get better so that I could start living my life.

I had heard about mindfulness and meditation, and became fascinated by the idea that I could learn to stop letting my thoughts and my pain control me. I read everything I could find on the subject, and began to attend some classes.

It proved to be exactly what I needed, and I set up a daily practice for myself at home in no time. I began to sleep better, my mood improved over time, and I actually started to really enjoy life and appreciate the little things again. I finally had some relief from pain, anxiety and intrusive thoughts, and was able to live much more fully. Meditation and mindfulness taught me that a peaceful mind and joy for life could be found, even on days when it felt difficult for me.

Now, as an externally accredited meditation teacher, qualified with distinction, my aim is to help others find peace in a stressful world, and to experience the joy of the present moment. Courses held at The Isbourne Wellbeing Centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

I hold an enhanced DBS certificate and an up-to-date first aid certificate. I am registered on the Data Protection Register (ICO), and have up-to-date insurance.
